Binfield move two points behind table toppers Northwood FC after their three-two win over Sutton Common Rovers at Hill Farm Lane.
‘The Commoners’ were resilient throughout the 90 minutes and responded well to both of Binfield’s first half goals as they came from behind twice in the match, but they couldn’t respond to Johnny Efedje’s close range finish as he pounced on a Daniel Purdew mistake in the Sutton net.
The Moles opened the scoring early on as Taylor Morgan latched on to a fantastic through ball from Sean Moore as he composed himself before slotting neatly past the onrushing goalkeeper! Binfield’s lead didn’t last long though, as Jephte Tanga Struck home the equaliser just 8 minutes later, as he beat the Binfield offside trap to fire low past Chris Grace’s near post.
The first half then fell flat, with Binfield’s Joe Gater, who was making his return from injury, was forced off after just 21 minutes as he had a problem with his knee and Tyler Cox of Sutton Common Rovers was replaced due to a head injury shortly after.
On the stroke of half time, Brad Pagliaroli picked up the ball on the edge of the area and stuck low through the legs of the Sutton Common defenders to give the Moles the advantage going into the break.
Taylor Morgan was the next player forced off through injury, and was replaced by Johnny Efedje shortly after half time, before Kai Hobbs’ goal line clearance deflected off team mate Liam Gavin and ended up in the back of the Moles net…
The Commoners joy however, didn’t last too long as a deep free kick was headed towards goal by Lewis Pegg who’s effort was spilled by Daniel Purdue before Johnny Efedje tapped home to secure the Moles all three points.
