Binfield FC Covid-19 Statement from our Chairman

Following Government guidelines and classification from the FA, there will be no football played by Binfield FC from Thursday 5th November until Thursday 3rd December 2020. This includes all games and training.

The club will be fully compliant with guidelines issued to us by the UK Government and the FA, following the national lockdown that was announced last Saturday by the Prime Minister. Having stated this, these restrictions are subject to members of parliament voting on Wednesday 4th November 2020 (Any changes will be announced by the club).

The FA’s aim is to ensure that the 2020/21 season is completed at all non-elite levels.

This is a temporary lockdown that we all will be facing as a country, and it’s vital that we all work together too ensure we can beat the virus. Our main intentions as a club are to finish the season on a high and aim to give the boys a good run once the restrictions have been taken out of place.

The club acknowledges that as we enter another lockdown, it will bring a variety of different stresses and strains that we hoped we wouldn’t have to go through again, but as a club, we appreciate and salute those individuals on the front line of this pandemic, who are going more than the extra mile to ensure we are as safe as we can be.

Please do you part in this and attempt to be part of a solution to help rid us of this virus. Please keep an eye out on your friends, family, loved ones and immediate neighbours and help were you can. Check in on your friends and family on a regular basis, they may need your help and will always appreciate a call.

Stay safe, follow all the guidelines, and lets get through this!

Binfield FC welcome both boys and girls aged between 3-6 years old, to come and play in our soccer school! With all of this in mind, COVID-19 social distancing rules still do apply at the club when attending.

If you are attending Binfield FC’s soccer school, please respect our local neighbours and we ask under any circumstances, that you do not park on surrounding roads. This would cause distribution and traffic to our local neighbours. Please use the car park provided at the football club if possible.

If you have any queries or questions, then please contact Bob Bacon at bob.bacon@rocketmail.com.

Despite the circumstances relating to Covid-19, we are excited to get our young ones kickstarted back into the game! We hope to see you there!

Binfield FC secure new sponsorship deal with WINBACK UK

Binfield FC are pleased to announce our new sponsor for the 2020-21 season, for the first team and the Under 7’s football teams.

This is a strong significant partnership between both the football club and WINBACK UK as it covers a three-year period supporting the club. The WINBACK UK logo will be incorporated onto the front and rear of our shirts and as a result, the club will benefit from physiotherapy training, strength, conditioning training and also alongside this, have access to physiotherapy for injuries during the coming season.

Geoff Warner Joins Binfield FC as First Team Coach

Geoff Warner becomes the first signing of the new Binfield management team of Jamie McClurg and Carl Withers.

Even though we are in uncertain times, the management duo have set about building a backroom staff ready to hit the ground running, once it is safe to do so of course.

Geoff will be no stranger to most, given his recent time at Bracknell Town and it is here that the relationship between Dodds, Carl and Geoff was forged. Geoff joins the club with a wealth of coaching experience, some of it spent professionally at Reading FC and Fulham, as well as managing at clubs like Beaconsfield and Bracknell.

On the appointment of Geoff, Dodds and Carl confirmed how pleased they are to have Geoff on board and felt he will be a great addition to their team owing to his experience and all three are excited to get started.

Also joining the backroom team is Tony Perry and Ross Perry, who will be joining as goalkeeper coaches for the coming season. Tony and Ross were also at Bracknell during that same spell as Geoff and it was an easy decision to bring their experience in, having been around them both during that time, but also the strong relationship they have with current first team goalkeeper Chris Grace, so it felt like the perfect fit.

Can you help?

Local man Colin Hills has organised a network to collect non-perishable goods from your doorstep, adhering to the safe conduct of social distancing, and distributing them to NHS workers at Frimley Heath and Heatherwood, when they finish their extensive shifts.

Colin is doing this as these fabulous people wont have to queue in supermarkets at the end of their shifts. Any contribution of non-perishables will be welcome, even things like new toothbrushes and nappies, tins, pasta and toiletries.

Please contact Chris below if you can help and he will arrange a collection from you on a Monday. We will always abide by the social distancing rules.

He will then deliver as arranged to Frimley Hospital and Heatherwood on a Tuesday.

Covid 19: A message from the chairman

After many days, it’s clear for all to see that Corvid-19 is well and truly with us. Without going into all the why’s and wherefore’s, we all know what we should be doing in order to steer clear of the virus and we should all follow Government guidelines and act appropriately.

As for the football club, it is also clear that we:

  • will not be playing football or
  • training for the foreseeable future.

Self-isolating and social distancing is something that we must all adhere to, whether we like it or not, not just for our own safety and health, but for those we come into contact with.

As a community football club, we serve the Binfield village and are proud to be a vital part of our locality. The football club doesn’t stop. We have a good committee and we are in communication about various ways forward, with a view to the future. Some decisions will be difficult to make at present as we await to see various outcomes. To that end, we will be asking for volunteers to help out around the club at various points over the coming weeks and days.

Whilst you may be having a bit of down time at the moment from football, can I please ask you to keep an eye out for the elderly, infirm, those in need, those who are lonely, those that are housebound, those that need shopping doing, those that need taking to medical appointments and ask that you “be kind”.

Football will start again when this is all over and done with, but in meantime, be vigilant and aware, take care of yourself and take care of others.
