The first Walking Football tournament for the new Binfield FC Walking Football teams. Mostly our Over 50s side supported by a subs bench of over 60’s.
The squad was Lee Kitching, Jon Norris, Sion Howard, Adrian DeCunha , Mike Eggington, Stefan Turton, Glenn Duggleby, Neil van Den Dungen & John Bennett.
They finished top of our League, beating Thames 2-1, Bracknell 2-1, Hurst 1-0, drawing 1-1 with Woodley and losing 0-2 to Ascot. Then beating Ascot 3-0 in the semi-final and wining the final 1-0 against Thames with a last minute penalty. Our goals came from Lee Kitching (5), Jon Norris (3) and 2 pens from debutant Stefan Turton, including the final winner.
A few walking wounded during and after the tournament and definately will be feeling it ….but great fun and a really good vibe about the day. Well done Ascot F.C.
At Binfield FC we are always looking for more over 50’s and over 60’s players to join our ranks. We train once a week at Kings Academy in Binfield and as well as always looking for tournaments such as this one, both sides play once a month, 10 months of the year at Bisham Abbey in the Thames Valley Walking Football League.
