Binfield’s Velocity Cup run is over at the first hurdle after defeat to the hands of Badshot Lea.
The hosts started the game very strong against a much-changed Moles side. Lamin Ceesay caused many problems for the Moles defence and had the first chance of the game but he was unable to find the target from close range.
Binfield’s best chance came ten minutes in when Janaid Forrester played through Dontaye Whittaker but his shot was well-smothered by Harry Caawdron.
Badshot Lea were close to opening the scoring when Nicolas Medcraft tried to slide in Ceesay but some great defending from Connor Jeanes as he turned the ball behind for a corner.
Badshot Lea opened the scoring midway through the first half when Ceesay played through Billy Oram who found Jane Caubo who turned the ball into the back post. They doubled their lead two minutes later when Ceesay found Oram who finished from close range.
Badshot’s third was a header turned in by close range by Nick Medcraft after more good work from Ceesay. William Mabukwa had an opportunity to pull a goal back for the Moles but he was unable to turn in Rechan Esprit’s cross.
It was one-way traffic for the rest of the half with goals from Reece Robins, Danilo Cadete and Steven Scylla wrapping up a difficult evening for the Moles.
Binfield are in action again at home to Chipstead on Saturday in the first game at Hill Farm Lane this season looking to bounce back after a difficult start to the season.
