Match Report: Guernsey – Home

We welcomed Guernsey to Iconic Stadium for a must-win game for the visitors. Anything less than a win for them would mean relegation.

This came across in the game play – Guernsey played like a team fighting for their survival at step 4. There was few chances for the Moles in the first half and the Green Lions took the lead in the 34th minute with a goal from Brandon Wallace. The second half wasn’t much difference and the visitors soon doubled their lead when Monty Brady turned the ball into his own net.

Despite manager Ross Weatherstone making a number of changes in the second half, the Moles weren’t able to get going and the game finished 2-0 to the visitors. For Guernsey, this means that they now must beat Harrow Borough on Saturday and rely on Sutton Common Rovers beating Met Police for them to survive.

For the Moles, we welcome league champions Farnham Town to the Iconic Stadium with the team hoping to avoid a repeat of the 7-0 defeat the last time the teams met in September.
