Hanworth Villa: A Game of Two Halves

The game began very brightly for the Moles, with a few chances, falling to Rahzir Smith-Jones who had the best chance of the opening 15. Daniel Fosu made his home Binfield debut, he marked it with a brave, acrobatic effort which was very well saved by the Hanworth shot-stopper. It was followed by a point-perfect switch from Ethan Gold to Smith-Jones who with some good footwork, let fly just over the bar. There wasn’t just one debut, there was two. The other, Kickie Dzimba who marked his first 23 minutes in Binfield red, with an expert strike. Last week it was an assist for Fosu, this week it was his first goal in the Binfield strip. Finishing sublimely in the 40th minute, allowing Binfield to enter the break with a two goal advantage.

The second 45 began extremely quiet, with most of the football being played in the middle. The return of Glenn Gabriel lasted 63 minutes, after he was replaced by Rechan Espirit. Hanworth halved the moles’ advantage in the 70th minute with twenty left to play, finished by Dylan Randall. After a great performance, Rahzir Smith-Jones was replaced by Duarte Surpanu as he looked to inject some more energy into the Binfield frontline. The Iconic also welcomed Reece Jones Jr back, after some appearances last season. His afternoon and new man Kickie ended 9 minutes from time, being replaced by Daniel Lewis and Lucas Surpanu respectively. A final change of the afternoon saw Jamie Hilton be replaced by Charlie George. Hanworth heartbreakingly found an equaliser in the second minute of injury time, with a quality strike.

The afternoon where the Moles debuted their new home strip, resulted in a point.

We now focus our attention on Tuesday where we face the travel to league leaders Farnham Town with a 7:45pm KO.
