The ‘Yellas take the spoils in bank-holiday derby.

A good opening quarter of an hour from Ascot resulted in some outstanding defensive work from the Moles. Some pressure from either sides followed shortly with Ascot gaining the advantage just before the half time. Ascot’s Sean McCormack calmly finished over the on-rushing Kacper Orlowski to give the visitors the lead at the break.

The second half began well for the Moles with pressure mounting on the Yellas back line, with some good chances.

Finally, the moles got level with some quality foot work finished off delightfully by Duarte Surpanu, impressing on his first start for the moles. This created an interesting last third of the game for the 310 in attendance at the Iconic. Substitutes were introduced to the pitch by Binfield manager Ross Weatherstone, with Charlie George hoping to continue his excellent form. The Binfield come back was shut down when Taylor Morgan added a brace to his tally this afternoon, giving Ascot a 3-1 lead in the 70th and the 77th minute respectively.

Binfield turn their attention to Saturday where we face the trip to Lordswood, in the FA Cup first qualifying round.
