A clinical Binfield FC grab their 4th win of the Isthmian League season as we take all three points from Chipstead, and close the gap to 7 points.
A tense opening 20 minutes saw a lack of chances for either side, but this was to be expected for a clash between two sides battling at the wrong end of the table.
The first chance of the game fell to Binfield and Tyler D’Cruz. He found some space on the edge of the area after some brilliant combination play between Parker and Holland on the left hand side, D’Cruz, however, couldn’t keep his shot down and it flies over the bar.
It was D’Cruz who was on the end of a long throw from Luke Wayborn, but his header from 10-yards out rattled the crossbar before coming back to him, his subsequent shot being blocked behind for a corner.
The Moles eventually found a breakthrough, and it was new signing Mitch Parker who slotted home from 6-yards-out after D’Cruz’s effort was parried by Baldwin Kaluya, putting the moles a goal ahead at the break.
The Moles switched on at the start of the second-half and doubled our lead just 6-minutes after the break as Connor Holland, who also signed for the club in mid-week, finished off a goal-mouth scramble as the ball was crossed to the back post after D’Cruz’s effort was well saved.
Chipstead struggled to defend against the Moles side who looked full of confidence, and that showed on the hour-mark as Rahzir Smith-Jones finished off a well worked move, with his first goal for the club.
It was then Lindo’s turn to get his name on the score-sheet, and it was his cool finish that put the Moles 4-goals ahead with 10 minutes to play.
Charlie George, another Moles substitute, found the back of the net as he tapped home Smith-Jones’ corner to cap off a fantastic Moles display at The NRT Stadium.
Next up for the boys is a Tuesday trip to Badshot Lea, before a run of three home games, starting on Thursday night.
