Following on from an opening day 6-2 victory over Henley Hawks, Binfield U9 Bees made it two wins from two with a hard fought win at Finchampstead Dynamo Reds in their first away game of the season.
Playing down the not insignificant slope in the first half, the Bees were dominant across both quarters with the Finch keeper making a string of outstanding saves. Eventually, though, the pressure told. Frederic’s shot took a wicked deflection and finally found the back of the net to give the Bees a deserved lead.
Quarter three was a different story. A much improved performance by Finch, aided no doubt by the gravitational forces of the hill, saw them breakaway and draw level. The bees rallied well in the final quarter where they dominated possession and created numerous chances. The pressure eventually told when a free kick from Reggie was turned in at the far stick by Rupert.
A solid all round team performance with Leo taking home the man of the match trophy as nominated by the opposition manager.
Back at home this week against Laurel Park where the Bees will be looking to make it 3 from 3.
