Binfield Fire U15 2-1 Harts of Bracknell
In our first home game of the season we saw that these young men can play different styles. Last week it was slick passing and this week we went toe to toe with a very skillful yet physical team.
In a first half where neither team could get the ball down and play, it was Harts with speed playing on the counter, only to be stopped time and time again by Luca and Isaac at the heart of the defence. With battles all over the park, Fire did eventually concede from a curling shot from the edge, leaving Carter stranded. As we went at half time a goal behind.
Into the second half and with the earlier introduction of Bobby making his debut, Fire gradually started to play some nice passes and looked dangerous on the attack. As Jackson got the ball, a beautiful flick between defenders to Karl who was taken down by the onrushing keeper, penalty immediately awarded. Now Fire having the chance to level, up steps Jackson who converted to the corner beating a full length dive from the keeper.
Now with Fire determined to continue, a resolute defence and midfield allowed our forward line to push on. As Olly took a long throw it was Karl who reacted the quickest to score from the 6 yard box.
As Fire held on to a deserved win, and Bobby picking up Man of the Match, we must praise our young ref who made some difficult decisions and stayed composed when many may of not.
