Woodley United Spitfires U15 0 – 4 Binfield Fire U15
With both teams playing the ball around nicely it was the determination of the midfield to close down and win the ball back, that lead to our first goal of the season.
With the ball falling to Oscar, it was his first time through ball that split the defence leaving Jackson one on one with the keeper, who calmly slotted his first of the game. The lead was doubled very quickly in similar fashion, this time it was a Lama through ball to Karl, showing the same composed finish.
With the midfield and defence solid throughout, it was a clever move in the centre releasing Karl down the right, his cross finished again for Jackson’s second, taking us into the break with a three goal lead.
Spitfires started the second half very strongly but they couldn’t get past a very composed partnership in the heart of defence, with longer range shots comfortably caught by Carter.
As the game continued gaps were starting to appear but Spitfires defence managed to hold out until the final 10 minutes. As Sam sent a corner over it was an onrushing Olly that put the ball in the back of the net to finish the scoring.
The coaching team were proud of the team but Oscar was deservedly awarded player of the match.
