Moles Suffer Late Defeat To Harrow

The Moles were playing their 4th and hopefully last, home “away” game of the season. This time the visitors were Harrow Borough with the game being played at the Robert Parker Stadium, home of Ashford Town (Middx).

The “home” team were hoping that the artificial pitch would be more suited to their style of play rather than the heavy pitch they played on at Egham on Saturday.

The first ten minutes were probably even in terms of possesion with Harrow having a few more attempts on goal. Harrow made a breakthrough in the 19th minute when a corner from Lewis Cole sailed past everyone and went direct into the net. Going one down seemed to spur on the Moles and they had the better of the end of the first half. They came close when Natty had a free header on the edge of the box but he headed over the bar.

The Moles started strong in the second half and quickly equalised when Toby Thompson tapped home from 2 feet out. Both sides had chances in the second half but unable to convert anything. Frustratingly for the Moles, Harrow scored in the 93rd minute when Dernell Wynter toe poked home a Luke Brophy cross.

This is definitely a game that the Moles thought they should have taken at least one point from. They now have a rare Saturday off before they play Kingstonian away on Wednesday 11th March – a team that are two places and one point behind the Moles.
