Dzimba Hits Hat-trick Against The Dean

The Moles travelled down the A3 for another six-pointer – the opponents this team was Horndean who themselves were looking for points to help their bid for safety.

Given the recent wet weather, this was never going to be the prettiest game of football on what was a heavy pitch. The Moles started kicking up the hill.

There were plenty of chances for Binfield with the first goal coming in the 26th minute when Kickie Dzimba headed in from a Lamin Ceesay cross. The Dzimba / Ceesday paid dividends just 15 minutes later when they doubled the lead.

The game became a bit of a slog in the second half with the heavy pitch. Kickie completed his hat-trick in the 73rd minute from a Toby Thompson cross. The evening didn’t end well for Horndean when Leon Baker was sent off for a second yellow card. The Moles thought they had a 4th when Monty Brady poked the ball into the net only for it to be flagged offside.

After the game, Moles manager Ross Weatherstone commented “What a tough place, pitch & team to play on a Tues night! The players adapted & executed an efficient performance!

Kickie will rightly take the headlines for a fantastic hat-trick but our defensive department were outstanding again tonight. 3 more in the right direction”.

On Saturday, the Moles travel to the Runnymede Stadium to play Egham Town who sit 6 places but only 3 points above them.
