Who are Fareham Town FC?

Fareham Town were formed in 1947 following the amalgamation of three local sides — Fareham FC, Fareham Brotherhood FC, and Fareham Youth Centre FC — after a public meeting in 1946 proposed creating a town football club. They joined the Portsmouth League, initially playing at Beaconsfield Meadow before moving to Bath Lane. Success came quickly, with promotions through the Hampshire League culminating in a Division One title in 1959–60. The club made its FA Cup debut in the 1955–56 season, reaching the fourth qualifying round, and went on to dominate the 1960s with five consecutive Division One titles. During the 1970s, they won the league twice more and moved to their current ground at Cams Alders in 1975.

After finishing runners-up in 1978–79, Fareham joined the Southern Football League and later played seven seasons in its Premier Division, reaching the FA Trophy semi-finals in 1986 before losing to eventual winners Kidderminster Harriers. Despite success in cup competitions, including a fourth Hampshire Senior Cup win, financial pressures led to a voluntary move down to the Wessex League in 1998. The club remained a consistent presence there until the 2024–25 season, when they earned promotion to the Isthmian League South Central Division after defeating Andover New Street 2–1 in the Wessex League play-off final on 26 April 2025.

Head To Head

The two teams met earlier in the season when the Moles were 4-1 winners with goals from Brady, Boakye and two from Abbey.

Currently, Fareham are 22nd in the league on 14 points whilst the Moles are 19th on 30 points.
