According to Reading University’s Meteorology Department, rain has fallen in the region for 25 days in a row. To avoid yet another postponement, the decision was taken to take The Moles on tour again for another away home game – this time to the Robert Parker Stadium, home of Ashford Town (Middx).
The opponents today were Hendon FC. A team that beat the Moles 3-2 in a close fought game back in September. The Moles started with the same line-up that beat both Leatherhead and Hayes & Yeading. New signing Quincy Patterson, who has joined the club on dual-reg from Woking Academy, started on the bench.
The Moles were the dominate team in the first half with plenty of chances but just unable to convert the final ball. This changed in 38th minute when Lamin Ceesay was brought down in the box. He stepped up to convert the resulting penalty to give the Moles the lead going into the break.
The second half started the same as the first with the Moles having more changes but again unable to put the ball in the net. This changed when Hendon keeper Joshua Strizovic scuffed a drop kick straight to Amari Fashnau who played it to substitute Monty Brady. Monty then managed to squeeze the ball underneath Strizovic for the Moles second goal.

The win takes the Moles closer to safety. They currently sit in the last relegation place on goal difference with two games in hand over Southall, the team directly above them.
Next up for the Moles is a home game against Westfield on Tuesday night – this will be subject to a pitch inspection early next week so keep an eye on social media.
They then travel to bottom team Fareham next Saturday for a six-pointer.
