Despite being on a great run of form, this was always going to be a tough tie for the Moles; a 200 mile round trip on a Tuesday evening against a step 3 side who themselves were on a good run.
And so it proved to be. Ramsgate were the stronger team in the first half, going in to the break 4-0 up. The Moles improved in the second half but the chances were just not there. They only conceeded one further goal to finish up with a 5-0 to Ramsgate in front of a crowd of over 600.
A lot to learn for the young Moles team as they now return to their league campaign with an away trip to Westfield on Saturday – weather permitting.
