Moles Get The Friday Feeling

The Moles had a rare Friday night game away at “home” in West London. Due to the recent wet weather, they took the decision to move their game to Rectory Meadow, the home of Hanworth Villa to ensure that it could be played and what a wise decision it was.

Binfield game into this game 5 games unbeaten since the beginning of December and from last weekends win over league leaders Leatherhead.

It was a dream start when they took the lead after only 2 minutes when Owen Smith slid the ball in from a cross from Lamin Ceesay. The leader didn’t last for long when former Mole Liam Tack equalised for the visitors.

It looked like it was going to be another goalfest when Binfiled won the ball inside the Hayes area and Dzimba produces a composed finished into the far corner. Followed shortly aftewards by another Tack equaliser for Hayes. The teams were equal at 2-2 at the break.

The second half was end to end but with few real chances until the 80th minute when Amari Fashanu’s brilliant flick slides Boakye in and he smashes it into the back of the net.

And that was it. Another win over a promotion chasing team and one step closer to moving out of the relegation zone.

Next up is the long trip to Ramsgate on Tuesday night for the Quarter Final of the Velocity Cup followed by a trip to Woking on Saturday to play another promotion chasing side – Westfield.
