Wow, how do you write a match report for a game like that.
The background; Leatherhead were sitting top of the league, favourites to go up and the Moles were in the relegation zone albeit four games unbeaten.
The Moles fielded an unchanged squad from their 3-1 midweek win over local rivals Ascot United. The Moles probably had the best of the first 30 minutes and had plenty of chances but were unable to convert. Leatherhead then woke up and scored 3 in 15 minutes with goals from Jacob Breckon, Nathan Hogan and Anas Igozouln.
The feeling at half-time was although Leatherhead were leading 3-0, it didn’t really reflect the action on the pitch. The Moles made a change at half-time bringing on Toby Thompson for Aaron White.
And what a second half it was. First up was Natty Boakye who scored after some great work from Lamin Ceesay on the right. The tide had turned but was the deficit too big to overcame. Just 10 minutes later, Lamin Ceesay was there again sliding the ball to Amari Fashnau who took it around Leathehead keeper Sonny Wheeler. Amari turned provider 5 minutes later when he crossed the ball for Kickie Dzimba to head The Moles level.
Just a few minutes later, Lamin got his 3rd assist of the day when he played to Amari Fashnau for his second of the game. The Moles were in full control now and Leatherhead were rocked. The Moles made it five when Natty Boakye scored after Remy Coddington was brought down on the edge of the box.
Leatherhead pulled one back in the 3rd minute of injury time but the Moles held on to take a well-deserved victory. The win takes them up to 19th only 3 points behind Southall with 4 games in hand.

Next up for the Moles is a ‘home’ game against Hayes & Yeading on Friday 23rd January. This game will be played at Rectory Meadows, the home of Hanworth Villa.
