Binfield FC suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat at Hill Farm Lane against Egham Town, as a late penalty decided a closely contested encounter.
The Moles produced a determined performance throughout, with both sides battling for control in a tight and physical affair. The best chance of the second half for Binfield came in the 69th minute, when a swift counter-attack led by Wynn released Dzimba through on goal. However, Egham’s goalkeeper Edegbe stood firm, blocking Dzimba’s effort to keep the game goalless.
Binfield made several changes in search of a breakthrough — Owen Smith replaced Harvey Griffiths in the 75th minute, followed later by Razhir Smith-Jones coming on for Kyle Daniel-Spray in the 84th.
Despite the hosts’ efforts, it was Egham who struck late. In the 81st minute, the visitors were awarded a penalty, which Stokoe confidently converted to give the Sarnies the lead.
The Moles pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages but couldn’t find a way past a resolute Egham defence, leaving them to rue missed opportunities.
