Match Report / Photos – Moneyfields

The Moles welcomed Moneyfields to the Iconic Stadium hoping to extend their two game winning run. This was always going to be tough against a side they had never won again – in fact, never scored a goal against.

The Moles had a nervy start but took the lead when Toby Thompson scored his debut goal from a yard out in the 13th minute. The lead was doubled 5 minutes later when Amari Fashnau somehow squeezed the ball in from a tight angle – we won’t ask him if it was a cross or a shot…. Logan Coles then fired one through a crowded box to take the Moles to a 3-0 lead after just 20 minutes.

At this point Moneyfields started to make a comeback when they scored a penalty in the 26th minute when Rudi Blankson scored after Tayo Singerr was brought down in the box. They added another when Tao Singer finished inside the 6 yard box after they broken into the box on the right side. The first half finished 3-2.

The Moles extended their lead back to two goals when Ethan Lindo scored in the 68th minute but there was plenty of life left in the game. Rudi Blankson got two more goals including another penalty for the game to finish 4-4.

Mixed feelings after the games as the Moles were unable to win the game from a 3-0 lead but they did take 7 points from 3 games and now sit just outside the playoff position.

Next up is an away trip to East Grindstead for the FA Trophy.
