The Moles welcomed the league champions Farnham Town to the Iconic Stadium for the last game of the season. They were hoping to avoid the 7-0 defeat at the reverse fixture earlier in the season.
The game didn’t get off to a good start when Moles keeper CJ was sent off after just 3 minutes for bringing down Farnham striker Adam Liddle. Connor Jeanes stepped up between the sticks for the second time this season.
The visitors took the lead in the 16th minute when Jordan Stepney drilled home a free kick from the edge of the box. They doubled the lead in the 28th minute when Great Evans beat the offside trap and put the ball past the stand-in keeper. Just on the stroke of half-time, Adam Liddle scored a third for the half to finish 3-0 to the visitors.
The Moles made a change at half-time replacing Connor Jeanes in goal with Brighton Morrison. There were few chances in the second half with no further goals.
The Moles have secured step 4 football for the 5th season and have finished two places higher than last season. The players have two months to recover before pre-season starts at the beginning of July!!!
