Binfield FC Vs Walton and Hersham- Match Report

Binfield FC swept aside by 5-star Walton & Hersham – Read our Match Report Here…

Binfield’s trip to one of the top teams in the league proved a step too far in their revival. The hosts took the lead early on. In-form striker Eddie Simon forced a good save from Harvey Rackley-Hayes at his near post. But from the resulting corner, a ball played to the back post picked out an unmarked Walton man who headed it back across and Simon was left with a tap-in.

The game then opened up with the Moles trying their best to maintain possession. Brad Pagliaroli having a good chance after dispossessing the Walton defence, he drove into the box but dragged his shot just wide. Walton & Hersham doubled their lead on the half-an-hour mark as Jordan Adeyemi was played through. The chance looked as though it had gone when the Binfield defenders recovered but he cut inside and picked out the bottom corner.

Binfield responded instantly with a deflected effort from Pagliaroli that found the top right corner – his 10th of the season in the only bright spark of the afternoon. Walton and Hersham were the better team for the rest of the half despite struggling to create another clear chance.

They battled well but when Eddie Simon struck his second of the game with a great finish, it looked like it would be a very tough task to get anything out of the game. Simon’s hat trick was the pick of the bunch when he cut back and found the top right corner. They rounded off their afternoon with a free kick by Harry Mills.

A battling first half against one of the best and most organised teams in the league but the Moles will look to respond when they travel to Merstham next Saturday.
