The FA Walking Football Cup 1st regional round came to Berks & Bucks this morning when Binfield FC over 50s WF squad continued our development in our inaugural year, as we took on our local rivals and serial winners, Bracknell Town over 50s WF, on their home patch at Bracknell Leisure Centre.
A hard fought 20 minute match ended in a 2 -2 draw, with goals from Lee Kitching and Jon Norris . Ex-Binfield players & coaches Alan ‘super Al’ Hawkins and Paul Leishman lined up against us in a strong side, with Paul scoring both Bracknell’s goals.
Onto penalties, (3 each), Bracknell hit the bar with their first and scored their other two and all three Binfield pens were converted by Stefan Turton, Jon Norris and skipper, Lee Kitching.
We move into the next round (in September) to take on teams in another FA region (we think in Middlesex, but to be confirmed).

We finished the day with another 20 minute training game, where Bracknell got their revenge and we thank our excellently run neighbours for their hospitality and look forward to our next battle with them.
