As we approach the business end of the season, let’s see where are three teams stand and what is up for grabs for the rest of the season!
First Team
In order to mathematically ensure their Isthmian League status for the 2025/26 season, the Moles need a minimum of ten points. Ashford Town, who currently sit in the final relegation place could reach a total of 48 points if they win their remaining six league games. If Ashford were win all their games, South Park would also need to win five of their remaining six matches to reach 48 points, while Met Police would need to outscore the Moles by three points, despite having two less games to play.
While it is unlikely, the Moles will want to officially ‘stay-up’ sooner rather than later and find some form towards the back end of the season with an opportunity this week with trip to Westfield and Met Police.

U23 Development
In their second year of Division One of the Thames Valley Premier League, our U23s find themselves batting for the promotion places with six games remaining. After just missing out on promotion last year, they will have their teeth to go one better this year.
Goring have been the standout team in the division and require just six points from their remaining five games to be classed as Champions but it is the battle for second that will go right down to the wire. Wokingham Town currently sit second on 28 points with four games to play this season. Westwood Wanderers are three points behind them having played the same number of games while the Young Moles are a point further back but with two games in hand on the teams above. Due to their superior goal difference, a victory and a draw with those games-in-hand would be enough for them to finish second so plenty on the line before the second week in May. And incredibly in the last game of the season, Wokingham face a trip to Goring which could have a big say in who goes up in the division..
Remaining Fixtures:

U18 Allieds
While the First XI are looking to secure their survival and the U23s pushing for promotion, the Allieds have their eyes on going one step further and lifting the title at the end of the season. They currently sit at the top of the table on 25 points with one game remaining. Reading City are three points behind the Young Moles but have two games in hands on the Allieds. With their superior goal difference, it means that two wins from their remaining four games would be enough for them to overtake the Young Moles. Penn & Tyler Green U18s are two points further back with a couple of games in hand. So three wins from their remaining four games would also see them leapfrog our Allieds. So although it looks unlikely, you have to be there to have a chance and the Allieds have certainly progressed season-through-season.

Tues 29th Apr – Reading City U18s (a)
