Binfield U13 Fire Battled For Draw

Binfield U13 Fire 3-3 Berks County Pythons

Fire started on the front foot with some really good through balls played from Ben, Erian and Yuvi with the upright stopping us taking an early lead.

Against the run off play, Berks County beat the offside trap to score the opener before quickly adding two more goals.  Fire responded straight from kick off with the ball going out to Alex who played to Erian to pull a goal back before half time.

Into the second half it was one way traffic with attempt after attempt resulting in Erian picking up his second goal from close range.  Berks County countered and nearly restored a 2 goal lead before Max superbly cleared off the line. With Max and Alfie battling away for every ball it was only a matter of time before we scored again, with the goal coming in the final minute and Erian completing his hat-trick sliding in at the back post.

The coaching team were happy with battling qualities recovering from 3 down to secure the draw

Match Report: Rayners Lane – Away

After the 4-0 defeat to Hartley Wintney on Tuesday night, the Moles travelled to Bedfont to play Rayners Lane hoping to restart their winning ways. Unfortunately, today was not the day for that.

The Moles were 4-0 down within 30 minutes and Ethan Lindo pulled one back for them to go in 4-1 down at half-time. The Moles management team shuffled the pack at the break and introduced Riley Robinson and Malachi Henry. For a while, it seemed that this might turn around fortunes when Tyler D’Cruz scored a goal in the 65 minute. However, that was the best of the second half and in the 85th minute Rayners Lane put the game to bed with a 5th goal for the game to finish 5-2.

The Moles welcome Ashford Town (Middx) to the Iconic Stadium on Friday for a game which will be important for the visitors as they try and avoid relegation.

Frustrating Draw For U18s Allieds

The Allieds endured a frustrating evening, drawing 3-3 against Burnham U18s. The game began ominously for the Allieds, conceding a goal within the first two minutes. However, they showed resilience and determination, clawing their way back into the contest. Dan Snow and Matt Tweed scored crucial goals in the final five minutes of the first half, turning the tide of the game but a missed penalty meant that they went in 2-1 at the break.

The second half saw the Allieds struggle to maintain their momentum. They gifted their opponents an equaliser at the start of the half, undoing their hard work from the first half. Despite this setback, Lucas Jacobs restored the Allieds’ lead, making it 3-2. With just minutes left, the Allieds switched off during a short corner, allowing their opponents to level the score once more, ending the match in a 3-3 draw.

The draw feels like a significant setback for the Allieds, particularly given their title aspirations. Despite the disappointment, the Allieds demonstrated their ability to fight back from adversity, a trait that will be crucial in their upcoming fixtures.

Despite the draw, the Allieds remain top of the league albeit that the teams below have games in hand.

Match Report: Hartley Wintney – H

Following their dramatic comeback scoring 3 late goals to seal a 3-3 draw against South Park (Reigate), the Moles were hoping to take that momentum in a tough home game against Hartley Wintney.

Unfortunately, that was not to be. The Moles had a few early chances from Ethan Lindo and Tyler D’Cruz but nothing could get past the woodwork or the Hartley keeper. Hartley then took the lead in the 20th minute with a goal from Ellis Orsborn and never looked back. In the second half, Hartley added three more goals; another one for Ellis Orsborn and goals from ex-Moles Conor Lynch and Liam Gavin.

Nothing positive to take away from this games for the Moles. A few days now to reflect on the defeat and prepare for their next game – an away trip to play Rayners Lane (which is being played at Bedfont Sports).

Binfield U13 Fire Earn Draw

Moor Mead 2-2 Binfield Fire

Fire twice came from behind to earn a draw but were unfortunate not to come away with a deserved win.

After falling behind to an early goal Fire were quick to reply with Alex brilliantly scoring from the edge of the box after a through ball by Lama.

Moor Mead scored again early in the second half but this didn’t deter Fire, this spurred them on.  Attack after attack we were getting closer before Sam whipped in a corner with William volleying in at the back post.

Fire continued to push for the winner with Erian hitting the cross bar, William just missing the goal with a long range shot and Sam having a shot well saved by the keeper.

The coaching team were proud of the effort of each and every member of the squad today.

Match Photos: South Park – Away

It is always tough travelling to away games but even tougher when the M25 is closed and the away game is in Reigate.

The Moles have a poor record away at South Park (Reigate) with only one point from three previous visits. It seemed this visit was going the same way when they went in at half-time 1-0 down and were quickly 3-0 down at the start of the second half. However, things changed around in the final 15 minutes of the game, thanks to some well timed substitutions.

The Moles scored three of the worse goals that you will ever see – they were all scrappy goals from point blank range but they all count. Despite the rally, they couldn’t find the winning goal and the match finished 3-3 draw. The goals came from a brace from Ethan Lindo and one from Tyler D’Cruz.

Next up is Hartley Wintney who are the visitors to the Iconic Stadium on Tuesday night, KO 7:45pm.

Photographer Daisy Spiers was in Reigate to capture the action.

Binfield U18 Allied Team Photo

U18 Allieds Beat Thatcham Town

The Moles U18 Allied side worked hard for a 1-0 over Thatcham Town with the bonus of a clean sheet.

The only goal was scored 2 minutes before half-time by Willem McCarthy setup by Zach Pascoe. Special mention to the back four Connor, Lewis, Rhys and Ollie with Euan Stiles GK pulling off a number of excellent saves .

Nice to get back to winning ways and importantly the performance was a big improvement on the last two games. This takes the team back to top of league though Penn and Reading have games in hand.
