Although the season is over, there is still lots of hard work going on at the club. Our Football In Berkshire nominated grounds team are hard at work with the help of external contractors improving the pitch ready for the start of the new season.
The process starts with “Sand Banding” which will improve the pitch drainage and soil content. They will then add a new layer of sand (75 tons) on top of the whole pitch and insert new grass seeding into the ground followed by fertiliser vertidraining & rolling.
Additional fertiliser will be added in 3/4 weeks time. The team will start to irrigate the surface from Monday for the summer and look to start cutting 3 times per week from the back end of next week.
This is the most comprehensive pitch renovation that has been done at the club for many many years.
