Moles Draw With The Field

Westfield are a team that the Moles haven’t had much joy against over the past 5 years. In fact, they have only beaten them once in 9 previous meetings and that was back in 2021. Add this to the fact that Westfield are currently sitting in a place-off position, then this was always going to be a tough game.

The Moles were the best time in the first half with chances for Kickie Dzimba and Monty Brady but it ended 0-0. Westfield must have had a talking to at half-time as they came out stronger in the second half. However, both teams were unable to find the target and the game finished 0-0.

After the game, Moles manager Ross Weatherstone commented “We were solid tonight, a constant threat to Westfield all game, which was pleasing, as they are a top side. Another clean-sheet. Another point in the right direction & we are creating lots of chances, I believe the goals are coming.”

An important point for the Moles keeping them 3 points (plus goal difference) above the drop zone. Next up is an away trip to Harrow Borough FC on Saturday 28th March.
