About Littlehampton Town FC

Littlehampton F.C., founded in 1896 and later renamed Littlehampton Town, spent much of its early history competing in local Sussex leagues. After joining the Sussex County League in 1928, the club frequently came close to major honours, finishing runners-up in Division One six times before finally securing their first championship in the 1990–91 season. That remarkable year also saw them reach the FA Cup First Round, win the League Cup, and make a historic FA Vase semi-final run. The following decades brought fluctuating fortunes, including relegations, promotions, and periods of both strong performance and difficult decline, such as their heavy 22–1 defeat in 2002–03. Despite setbacks, the club repeatedly rebuilt, earning promotions in 2003–04 and 2012–13, and claiming the Sussex County League title again in 2014–15, though without stepping up a division.

A new era of success arrived in 2021–22 when Littlehampton won the league and achieved promotion to the Isthmian League for the first time, while also reaching three cup finals, securing a historic treble, and becoming the first Sussex club to reach an FA Vase final. Their achievements were later celebrated in a dedicated film shown locally in 2024. Continuing their competitive resurgence, the team reached the Sussex Senior Cup final in 2024–25 for the first time since 1991, narrowly losing 1–0 to Horsham at the Amex Stadium. Ahead of the 2025–26 season, Littlehampton were moved laterally to the Isthmian League South Central Division.
