The Moles Hit Fareham For Four

The term “must win match” is overused in football but if you will pardon the cliche, this was a must-win match for both teams. The Moles started the day bottom of the league whilst Fareham were two places higher with the teams separated only by goal difference. To add even more to the mix, six of the seven bottom teams faced each other.

The Moles made two changed from their defeat to the Met Police on Tuesday night, with goalkeeper CJ Fubler returning from international duty and Natty Boakye back after a 3 match ban.

Despite plenty of chances, the first half looked like it was going into the break goalless but Monty managed to pop up and put a rebounded shot into the net with virtually the last kick of the half.

The Moles go off to a flying start with a goal from Natty Boayke in the 47th minute followed by two goals from Ejiro Abbey in the 51st and 66th minutes. They looked like they were also going to keep an important client sheet until, at the end of the game, a foul was conceded on the box and Sam Godfroy scored direct from the resulting free-kick.

A confidence boosting win for the Moles that starts to move them up the table.

Next up they are away at Premier Division Carshalton in the Velocity Cup on Monday night followed by an away league trip up the M3 to Hanworth Villa on Saturday.
