Five unanswered second half goals helped the U18 Allieds reach the next round of the FA Youth Cup in a hard fought win away last night at Ardley.
James Gilbert opened the scoring for Binfield on 5 minutes with a rocket from wide on the left before Ardley clinically punished a few in possession mistakes to fight back and take a 3-1 lead at half time.
Kicking up the slope in the second half Binfield responded with four goals in 11 minutes. James added his second of the night with a calm finish following some great built up play down the right before an own goal levelled things on 51 minutes. Three minutes later it was three for Gilbert as he latched onto a through ball, rounded the keeper and finished into the empty net to put the Moles back in the lead again.
Zach was causing havoc down the right side and raced onto another through ball to finish low past the keeper on 59 minutes to cap an amazing start to the half. Five minutes later when through on goal again he was chopped by the last man and Ardley were reduced to 10.
Freddie, Lewis G and Charlie were introduced to replace Aflie, Sam and James and all made impacts as the young Moles kept the tempo high.
Two spectacular saves in the space of a few minutes then prevented Lucas joining the score sheet. First from a 25 yard free kick when the Ardley stopper somehow managed to claw it from the top corner and then another great 1 on 1 save to push the ball wide.
The goals for Binfield were not finished and after some great interplay on the left Charlie rounded off the scoring smashing the ball home to seal the comeback.

A hattrick for James, some great in possession build up, endless second half chances, tireless work rate and the return of Ev from serious hamstring injury. Loads of positives and thanks to Ardley United for being great hosts on the night.
