Who are Hayes & Yeading FC?

Hayes & Yeading United Football Club was established on May 18, 2007, through the merger of Hayes F.C. and Yeading F.C., both of which had been competing in the Conference South. The club’s badge incorporates the Middlesex crest and colors from both predecessor teams, along with the motto “Porro Simul,” meaning “forward together” in Latin. In their inaugural season (2007–08), they finished 13th in the Conference South and reached the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup. The following season (2008–09) proved more successful as they secured a playoff spot, ultimately winning promotion to the Conference National after defeating Hampton & Richmond in the final.

The club’s early years in the higher league were marked by fluctuating performances. They turned fully professional in the 2010–11 season, reaching the final of the Middlesex Senior Cup and competing in the FA Cup against League 1 side Wycombe Wanderers. However, they faced challenges in subsequent seasons, including relegation back to the Conference South after a poor showing in the 2011–12 season. Despite a brief reprieve from relegation due to Hereford United’s expulsion, Hayes & Yeading continued to struggle, finishing low in league standings and experiencing repeated early exits from cup competitions. The club’s fortunes shifted in the 2017–18 season when they won their first title as a merged entity, topping 100 league goals and securing victory in the Isthmian League South Central Division. The club was relegated back to the South Central Division at the end of the 2023/24 season.
