Message From The Manager

It gives me great pleasure to write these notes on the 1st year anniversary of me joining Binfield FC as your Manager.

Tonight will be our last game at the Iconic Stadium before Christmas, our last home game of 2024. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the fans, the Chairman, the Executive committee, the admin team, the club house team, the tea hut team, the Grounds Team, the Media Team, all the volunteers, the mascots, the junior teams, a happy, healthy Christmas and prosperous New Year, from the myself, Bully, Bowes, Salil, Rhys, Matt, Carl, Becca & all the players, we all appreciate all your support and everything you do for us as a First Team Family.

A mini review of 2024 – Firstly I hope 2024 has given all of the Mole fans and Mole Community, hope, enjoyment and pride back in the badge of Binfield FC. With Bully, we arrived a year ago to the day, I can tell you all, we have absolutely loved it! The Great Escape & Game against Uxbridge FC on the last game of last season, is the gift only Football gives, a memory I know we all will treasure, for the rest of our football lives.

Since being handed the Reindeer Reins from Andy Cotton on the 23rd December 2023, some other highlights have been; securing our first points and first win of the season for the club, on January 20th against Met Police Away for many reasons not just the win. The 9-1 FA Cup win away to Longlevens FC, a FA Cup record result for the Club is something our team can feel very proud with. The wins against National League Teams Dulwich & Hamlett FC away and Maidenhead United FC at home, in the Cups, both have been great results, to add to the Clubs history books. On November the 30th, Bowes got us to the 50 points mark for 2024, with the win over Harrow Borough FC and a point added against Kingstonian FC, see’s us on 51 points achieved in 37 League games! I believe this is a huge, positive stat to reflect on, a year everyone at the Club can feel proud of in my opinion, as it’s been a huge team effort to have achieved what we have. Be rest assured, we will continue to give everything to make that even better tonight and over the festive season.

Tuesday night saw us travel to Harrow Borough FC. This was yet again, another great resilient performance & great cup win, we saw the return of the legend Ethan Lindo, CJ got another clean sheet & we scored another 2 goals to add to our tally. The result sees us move into the QF of Velocity League Cup, another great achievement in 2024.

Our last home game saw us play Kingstonian FC here at the Iconic Stadium on the 3rd December, the game ended in a 0-0 draw, with 3 players being sent off, 2 for us and 1 for them. CJ made an excellent penalty save & kept another clean sheet, a solid defensive performance from the team and another point in the right direction.

Congratulations to Connor Jeanes for winning player of the month for November, which was fully deserved for his gritty performances, along with him now adding goals to his game, the goal Connor scored against Harrow Borough FC to win us the game, fully deserves to win Goal of the Month, a clean sweep for Connor and I hope his performances continue into December.

An update on me, I’d like to start by saying thank you to everyone at the Club and football community, for all of your kind messages of support to me & my family, I’ve genuinely been overwhelmed. I appreciate I haven’t responded to everyone, as my focus has been to recover, so I apologise for not responding but please note, your message has helped me hugely. I had eye surgery on Tuesday last week on the Cancer on my eye, it wasn’t a nice procedure. I am now waiting on the biopsy results, which I’m praying will come back ok. I am itching to get back to normality & I hope to get back to the Iconic Stadium as soon as I can. However the Chairman has said to me, he will sack me, if he sees me again in 2024! Jokes aside, I can not wait to see everyone.
